Brad Russell

Manager, International Business Development Northrop Grumman

Brad Russell is the Northrop Grumman International Business Development lead for the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) and the AARGM Extended Range (AARGM ER). Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Russell served as both a commissioned officer and a civilian in the U.S. Navy. As a civilian Russell held numerous positions at the Navy’s International Program Office (IPO), conducting Foreign Military Sales of Naval, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard defense articles, developing strategy for Navy IPO, and leading Navy IPO’s Technology Transfer and Licensing Directorate. During his tenure at Navy IPO Russell was directly responsible for over $10B in Foreign Military Sales, to include F/A-18’s to Kuwait, AH-1Z’s to Bahrain, AIM-9X to the UAE, and over $1B in Navy weapons to Qatar as a part of their F-15QA program. As a civilian he was twice awarded the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
As a Naval Aviator, Russell flew the EA-6B Prowler, the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet, and the EA-18G Growler. He attained the rank of Captain and commanded at the squadron and wing levels. Military assignments included a Federal Executive Fellowship at the Council of Foreign Relations, Chief of Staff / Maritime Operations Center Director at the U.S. Naval Central Command / U.S. Navy FIFTH Fleet, Commodore of the Electronic Attack Wing, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Strategic Planner at the National Counterterrorism Center, and Commanding Officer of the VAQ-140 Patriots. Russell ended his flying career with over 4,000 hours, 925 carrier arrested landings, and over 100 combat missions. His military awards included the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross (V), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal (V), the Navy Commendation Medal (V), and various other individual and unit awards.
