Clarence Johnson is the Vice President of Requirements & Capabilities for Europe, Africa and the Arctics in Raytheon Missiles & Defense, a Raytheon Technologies Company. Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) is one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies with 195,000 employees and $74 billion in annual sales (pro forma combined annual revenue).
In his role, Johnson is responsible for building and maintaining trusted relationships with U.S. European Command, U.S. Africa Command, NATO, the EU and leaders and defense and security professionals throughout Europe, Africa and the Arctics, with the goal of providing end-to-end solutions to today’s most complex security needs. Johnson leads a team of professionals across Europe to position and capture new business in a highly competitive market.
Before joining the company in 2017, he served as a U.S. Air Force colonel and A-10 command pilot. Previously, he was director of Air Force international programs for the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (OSD Policy) in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, he served as an interagency expert for U.S. fighter aircraft programs and munitions. He also served in Pentagon staff officer assignments as Chief International Fighter Programs, SAF/IA, and Chief of F-35 and A-10 Programming, AF/A8.
Johnson commanded the 354th Fighter Squadron at Davis- Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, leading it on its first deployment to Osan Air Base, Korea. In addition, he has led combat sorties during Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and Southern Watch. Johnson is a command pilot with more than 2,400 fighter flight hours, 650 of which are in combat operations.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the United States Air Force Academy, a Master’s in National Security Policy from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master’s in National Security and Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School, National Defense University.
