Marek Świerczyński heads security desk at Polityka Insight since 2015. During this period he authored more than 1000 analytical pieces focusing on Polish defence policy, NATO, conflicts and crises, technical modernization and Polish-US military cooperation. He has been covering defence tenders and international security issues throughout most of his 20-year career in journalism. Between 1997 and 2005 he worked at the Polish Section of the BBC World Service in Warsaw and London, and later in several radio and television newsrooms. From 2010 to 2015 he was the publisher of “Polska i Świat” magazine at TVN24. He collaborated with the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington, DC, German Marshall Fund of the United States, Atlantic Community in Berlin, Polish Institute of International Affairs and Poland's National Defence Academy. He studied law at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
